Yesenia Banuelos

Yesenia Bañuelos was an angel in disguise within her time here on earth.

She was an amazing woman with big dreams and aspirations for herself and her daughter. She surpassed many barriers and obstacles throughout her life, and sought to ameliorate her family’s situation by studying and working hard throughout high school. It did not end there; she was the first in her family to attain a college degree. Graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with bachelors in French and Political Science.

She was a strong woman, lovely daughter, devoted student, wonderful sister, caring friend and most importantly, one of the BEST mothers in the world. Her motherhood brought out the best of her and it was very admirable to see her fight for her “pedasito de carne” despite all odds. As Yesi's mother would say, Melodie was a piece of her own flesh.

Unfortunately, Yesi was rushed to the hospital after a tragic accident this past Sunday July 14th (her daughter’s birthday). She has left her humble parents, five siblings and a beautiful 2-year-old daughter.

Her family is now grieving her passing. It would be kind for all of us to contribute and make the financial situation one less thing for them to worry about. Her family is already under such distress and if there is one way that everyone can help is through making a donation. We (Yesi’s friends/past roommates from college) have created a PayPal account and implore you all to think of Yesi and donate anything you can. Her daughter is only 2-years-old but we are determined to see her attend college just as her mother did.

Anyone who has ever met Yesi knows that she had a contagious smile and always sought to make others happy and optimistic. We need to help and show her that that she is cared for, since I am positive she would be doing this for any of us, even those who she did not know personally.

Yesi will always be remembered and loved by us all. Demonstrate Yesi that we all are here in support of her family and her beautiful Melodie.

Please feel free to share with all of us your favorite memory of Yesenia
